"Infrared near-field optical microscopy: studies of surface plasmons and quantum cascade laser"
Abstract: We present a novel setup based on aperturelessnear-field scanning optical microscopy designed for detecting infrared thermal radiation at the surface of a photonic structure with a resolution far beyond the diffraction limit (~5μm in the infrared frequencies). This new instrument is a powerful means to obtain optical information with a resolution equal to 100nm. In this presentation, two different studies will be discussed: one concerning the contrast between gold and SiCand another focused on the characterization of Quantum Cascade Laser.
